The cottage has oil fired central heating throughout. All linen, towels, tea towels, heating and electricity are included. No Smoking is allowed in the cottage. For younger guests we can offer stair gates, a large fireguard, travel cot and highchair, please request at time of booking. All guests will receive a Welcome Pack.
The cottage will available on your day of arrival from 4pm and departure time is 10am. These times could be adjusted on request depending on how busy we are – please ask if necessary.
Outside
The setting and the roses around the door give a relaxing and rural feeling. A patio area with garden furniture leads to a large lawned area suitable for ball games or just relaxing with a book. The garden is surrounded by woods where, if you are quiet, you can observe the wildlife. There is parking for 3 cars to the side of the cottage. A large shed offers storage for bikes, walking boots and other equipment. The shed also houses the washing machine.
We welcome two well behaved dogs by arrangement at an additional cost. They must be kept on leads outside the garden due to the local wildlife, our chickens and sheep. Whilst we are happy for them to go inside the cottage we expect them not to go upstairs or onto any of the furniture.
Ground Floor
The back door opens into the kitchen. The fully equipped kitchen boasts an electric fan oven with ceramic hob, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, fridge and freezer. Although the local pub and award winning restaurant is only 2 miles away and there are a variety of takeaway outlets in the local area the cottage has a wide variety of crockery and kitchen equipment is available for your use making self catering as easy as possible. An extendable table in the dining room allows you all to sit comfortably together at mealtimes.
Accessed from the kitchen are the dining room and sitting room. For cosy evenings the sitting room has an open fire – 1st basket of logs is free, further supplies available at cost, access to coal by arrangement. Comfortable seating in well lit areas is available in both rooms for reading, playing games or relaxing in front of the TV. The sofa bed with bedding is situated in the dining room.
For your entertainment we offer colour TV with free view, DVD player, CD/Radio and a selection of games and books for all ages.
Finally on the ground floor is a shower room with toilet and basin.
First Floor
Upstairs there are two king sized bedrooms equipped with good quality free standing furniture. A zip and link bed in one of these rooms allow for two 2'6" single beds if requested. Both offer views across the Yorkshire countryside.
The twin bedroom with full sized beds and fully equipped family bathroom are under the eaves at the back of the cottage. Due to the character of the cottage both are accessed down two small steps and have limited headroom in some areas. More information available if required (contact Anne by telephone or email).
